Nearly all of our Winter Wedding and Honeymoon destinations are located within the 'Aurora Zone'. In essence, this means that the Northern Lights can be seen at their very best within an area situated between 60 degrees North and 72 degrees North.
All of our destinations are deliberately featured right across Scandinavia's Auroral Zone in Norway, Sweden and Finland to give you the best chance of witnessing the Aurora Borealis. This year we are introducing specific Northern Lights Honeymoons and Mini Moons which are simply based around hunting mother natures most amazing light show.
The Northern Lights are forecast to be at their most active for 11 years over coming winters (the next 3 years especially). We know that for a lot of people witnessing the Northern Lights is certainly on their bucket list, so why not honeymoon beneath the Aurora - you couldn’t get anymore romantic if you tried!

NELLIM
This destination is about as far North as you can go before delving into the depths of the unknown wilderness.
Nellim’s fabulously remote location means that there is virtually no light pollution, creating some of the best Northern Lights displays.
If you’re looking to experience the traditions of Lapland set in the true winter wilderness, then Nellim is the place for you.
The words ‘genuine’, ‘unspoilt’ and ‘traditional’ are wholly appropriate for this destination and you will certainly be welcomed with open arms by your hosts Jouko and Mari.
For an extra special and wonderfully romantic evening we recommend spending doing the aurora camp on Lake Inari sitting on reindeer skins, drinking berry juice and keeping warm by the log fire - and hopefully admiring the amazing Aurora Borealis overhead.
Nellim is a beautiful location for a wedding - get married on the frozen lake, in the wooden kota or blessing at the beautiful church.

LUOSTO
Luosto nestles sleepily amidst the silent fells of Finnish Lapland. If you would like to combine all of the best Nordic activities with some downhill skiing and a pinch of luxury then this is the place for you.
We provide all of our guests at Luosto with an aurora alert – which will certainly enhance your chances of witnessing the Northern Lights as opposed to accidently sleeping through it (this is more common than you may think!).
Luosto offers a great range of accommodation from log cabins to hotel suits and rooms with saunas and a cosy log fire.

ABISKO
Abisko has been scientifically designated as one of the best places in the world to see the Northern Lights. Basically, Abisko is surrounded by a bowl of mountains which, along with very favourable prevailing winds, break up as much, or all, of any encroaching cloud giving you a very good chance of witnessing the aurora dancing across the night sky.
To add to the appeal, Abisko is only 100km from the infamous ICEHOTEL so we’ve added a night there for good measure.
This destination offers the chance to enjoy and experience the true Swedish wilderness, in the wonderfully cosy Mountain Lodge, the Northern Lights and the wonderfully magnificent ICEHOTEL.

HARRINIVA
Harriniva is set right in the middle of the Auroral zone.
The hotel provides a wonderfully cosy atmosphere including the option to overnight in either a wilderness cabin of beautiful spa cabin with outdoor hot tub and private sauna.
Just a few minutes from the main hotel you can experience the wonderful snow igloo. We hold many weddings here and it’s just the perfect venue for a quaint and romantic ceremony. You can also overnight in the igloo in one of the snow rooms.
If both you and your partner have a combined passion for the Northern Lights and photography, we have a perfect and somewhat alternative honeymoon for you.
You will be accompanied by the amazingly talented Antti Pietikainen who has been photographing the Northern Lights for many years – not to mention he is a born and bred Laplander.
This fantastic short break will maximise your chances of photographing the Aurora. You will travel with The Aurora Zone in the company of Antti and will spend at least 9 hours in pursuit of the Aurora Borealis. As well as hosting a photography workshop, Antti will be on hand to provide advice and tuition on how best to capture the Aurora. We have also included an unforgettable husky safari and a trip to Lainio Snow Village.
