Ice Chapels and Igloo's
There is something quite magical about getting married in a chapel or igloo made entirely of ice and snow. The pews are covered in reindeer skins, even the alter is made of ice and candles flicker to create a wonderful ambiance.
We offer a choice of 3 amazing snow/ice hotels plus several smaller igloo experiences.
lainio snow village
You follow a road which winds its way into a snow covered forest and then in the distance, you see the most wonderful sight – a little village made entirely of snow and ice nestled between the trees. The Snow Village opens in early December each year, comprising an Ice Restaurant and Ice Bar where you can sit on reindeer skins for a drink or dinner and then the colourfully lit hallway leads to your accommodation for the night. The snow suites are individually designed with ice sculptures and decorative artwork on the walls.

ICEHOTEL
The ICEHOTEL is located in Swedish Lapland and is truly an incredible sight. Whether you admire it for its beauty, art, engineering or sheer scale, it is spectacular. Made solely from the Torne River ice the hotel comprises a reception, the ABSOLUT ICEBAR, individually designed and sculpted suites and more simple ice rooms. If you would like your wedding night to be spent in the infamous ICEHOTEL we would suggest a suite to make it that much more special.

kakslauttanen snow village
Imagine yourself sleeping in an Igloo made of Snow. It is totally quiet and the lights inside the ice illuminate the Igloo. The temperature inside Snow Igloo stays always between -3c and -6c so that you will never feel too cold. That's a promise! The snow Igloos are for 1-5 people.
After the night in an Igloo it is time for a Sauna. The saunas and showers next to the Igloo Village are open every morning. From the sauna it is also possible to take a dip in the hole in the ice. What a way to start your day.
snow igloo's
There is something very charming about the simplicity of this igloo and it has the benefit of being located quite close to the hotel for those people who are a little unsure of what to expect. Guests enter their candlelit rooms where they lie on reindeer skins in their thermal sleeping bags.
This igloo can be used anytime from the beginning of December to the end of April!

More unique venues
wooden chapel
We have a selection of chapels – all unique in design and size but all very cosy, welcoming and steeped in history. Many are located in the clearing of a snow covered forest and can be decorated with candles and flowers of your choice.

traditional kota
A kota is a wooden teepee with a central fire which can be used to cook food on. It is a very traditional building of the area and can vary in size holding between 12 and 50 people. The beauty of this option is that you can have the whole day in one unique venue – the ceremony can follow straight into the celebration drinks and dinner.

outdoor ice altar
This idea gives you the ultimate freedom in where you marry as it can be built anywhere. It blends beautifully with the landscape whilst providing the most simple yet dramatic venue for your ceremony. Imagine walking down from the forest and to the ice altar covered in flowers and candles built in the middle of a frozen lake – a truly magical venue.
