Situated 230kms North of the Arctic Circle, you can experience the true Finnish Lapland whilst everything you need is close to hand. With a choice of unique weddings venues, including snow igloos, cosy kotas and an ice altar, it makes a wonderful place for weddings in the snow.
The Ceremony
There are many different options for the ceremony but the two most popular are either in the candlelit igloo close to the hotel or you can stand before an ice altar covered in flowers in the middle of a frozen river.
Transport to and from the Ceremony
Why not arrive in style by a husky pulled sleigh. The groom can arrive on a snowmobile and if you really want to make an entrance or exit, we can arrange for a sea plane to land on the frozen river and whisk you away for a short scenic trip. Alternatively, many people opt for a short husky safari after the ceremony - a perfect way to get some amazing photogrpaphs of the newly weds together.
The Celebration
Return to a traditional wooden kota in the grounds of the hotel for a wedding feast cooked on an open fire where we can also arrange for music to get the party started. There is also a private dining room in the hotel if you prefer.
If you decided to opt for the ice altar, you can have your celebration in a wilderness cabin and the whole group can stay there for the evening.
Wedding Night
If you want to have some privacy on your wedding night then we can arrange for an overnight stay in a wilderness cabin. Alternatively we can arrange for you to have the use of the spa cabin as your bedroom for the evening, complete with fireplace and use of the outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the frozen river.
Introductory Husky Safari
An introductory 9km safari lasting approximately one and a half hours. Two people share a sled and dog team. Guides, instruction and equipment included.

Lappish Culture and Short Reindeer Safari
You will visit the Lapland Manor where you will learn about the Lappish way of life and a year in the life of a reindeer. This is
followed by a 3km safari with lunch, coffee and cake served in a warm kota (teepee). Approx 4 hrs.

Reindeer Farm and Safari
You will visit a local reindeer farm where the herders will tell you about the animals and their importance in Lapp culture. After learning to lasso your reindeer you start a 10km safari pausing for coffee and cake by an open fire.

Lainio Snow Village & Kellokas Nature Centre
Round off your tailor made winter activity holiday in style. We will arrange a taxi transfer from harriniva to Lainio Snow village. Each year it takes around 1000 truck loads of snow to create the Snow village. This magnificent complex constructed from ice and snow changes shape every year but the artistry, handicraft and breathtaking design always leaves a lasting impression. The Snow village covers an area of approximately 7,500 square metres and consists of a restaurant, bar, lobby, hotel rooms and suites.
